My son is about 15lbs and just over 25 inches. He fits perfectly in this lying down. It supports his head and neck if he wants to lay back. My little guy loves it. It has a no slip bottom which I love. Hangs to dry right on the bar in the tub. No mildew smell so far. We’ve been using it for 2 months.

I’ve been using this product for a bit over two months and so far have not had any real issues with it. I bought it when my baby was starting to sit up and getting too big for her old tub (the cheap blue plastic kind you put in the kitchen sink). It’s not particularly portable and you do have to fill your whole bath with water, so if those will be problems for you, I think you’d have to get an inflatable tub. I personally find this much nicer than the inflatable sort because she doesn’t slide around all over the place, which would also be a problem if I just put her in the big tub.
One reviewer mentioned that the sides were not filled all the way with beads, but this is not actually a problem because when it’s in the water, the beads sort of float up anyway. My baby does try to climb out but I don’t think that has anything to do with the product. The only things I would mention is that because of the way the sides float up, it is a bit smaller than it looks at first. Also it would have been nice if there were some rubbery grips or something on the bottom as it does have a tendency to slide a bit. And something that really should be mentioned in the product description is that you are not supposed to use any sort of moisturizing soaps in it as this can increase the liklihood that it will mildew. Despite that, I’ve been continuing to use Burt’s Bees liquid baby wash (which contains “plant moisturizers” or something like that) and occasionally Burt’s buttermilk bath powder. I don’t have any problems yet (but it’s probably too soon to tell) but I can say that the tub seems to be drying out within 24 hours despite living in a damp chilly climate (but then, it’s summer).
UPDATE: I’ve had this bath now for 2&1/2 years and if I could, I would upgrade my rating to 5 stars because it’s held up so well and for $25 has been so worth it. My daughter was still using her “boat” at 35lbs/36in though she didn’t need to anymore. Then when my infant son was ready, we switched him over to it. There is room for this to sit in the bath and still have another kid sit next to it. I did eventually notice it starting to smell musty (particularly after using the Buttermilk Bath) but I just put it the washing machine. I don’t use detergent becuz the 1st time I noticed a ton of suds in the washer and realized it must have soap built up in it already. I just rinse it in water and it comes out feeling a lot lighter and smelling fine. Occasionally it it’s still stinky after rinsing, I’ll put a bit of bleach in the wash too and that takes care of it. The only caveat is that I do have a front loader and I’d be a bit leery about putting this in a washer with an agitator- I’d hate to have it tear and get those little beads everywhere. Also there was a slight bit of padding on the bottom that came loose in a wash and is now bunched up to the side but the kids don’t seem to mind. Oh, and we flip it over and use it as a pillow when it’s time to wash my daughter’s hair. So, all said, I still think this product is way better than any of the other options out there and would highly recommend it.

This is the best tub for your child once s/he is beginning to sit up. We love it and both of our children loved it. We used it for our now 4 year old daughter and just purchased a new one for our son who is 6 months old. It’s soft and comfortable and gives him the freedom to enjoy splashing and moving around. I never liked the idea of those hard plastic bath seats. They’re so confining too. The other great thing, just a couple shakes after the bath is done, hang it up, and drip dry for the next time. Your baby is sure to love bathtime in this tub.

I love this tub!!! I have been using it since my 5 month old’s first tub bath and it is great. The infant side cradles a baby so they don’t slide. My son is now 18 lbs and still fits fine on the infant side. It dries great and doesn’t take up alot of room. Yes, you have to put it in the regular bathtub and fill that with water. But it only takes a minute to have enough water. I love that there is no hard plastic edges and that he will already be used to the regular tub when he’s bigger.(I’ve had that problem with my other child) We will be using this tub for as long as possible.

I used this for both my children and found it to be the ideal transition from young infant through toddler in a tub. It allows as little or as much water as is safe for age, is easy to dry and is truly an asset in any bathtub with babies. It is soft and cushions baby, and because it dries easy, feels comfortable, from the moment the baby gets in. The best tub for baby, once they outgrow the kitchen sink!

I use this for my 10 month old twins – they love it. We fill our clawfoot tub half full (which is pretty deep) and this thing floats like a boat. The girls love the gentle motion it makes when floating or when we push them back and forth in the tub. I no longer have to stress about when they might throw themselves backwards and hit their head. I posted a pic of the two of them in the tub. Usually we do one at a time, but squeezed them both in there for the photo.

This is a great product- especially for those in-between stages. My daughter loves this tub and has the support if she falls backwards when she is sitting. Also great to lay down in… One hint though- fill up the bath tub and then put the ‘bath n bumper’ in it- otherwise, you get the top of the ‘bumper’ wet and it gets cold because it’s not covered in water… That’s what I did the first time I used it and my daughter wasn’t too happy
If used correctly- I would say the best investment I’ve made! I went through two other bath tubs before I got to this one. My daughter used to hate baths and now she loves them!

Look no furthur! I have bought the newborn sized one and now 2 of the larger boats for my grandsons! My oldest GS is 1 yr old now and he will not take a bath w/o it! I only wish they had made such a find in my child-rearing days!

I love the Leach Co Products. We purchased a safer bather for my son when he was an infant and loved it. When he outgrew it we looked for something that would support him in the tub while he was learning to sit up. So we purchased the Bath n Bumper and have been very happy with it. I love the support that it offers. We have been very please with this product and would highly recommend it
