Guides To Establish Parentage of the Child If In Doubt
by admin ·
Whenever there is a rift in a relationship, or even when the father of the child is suspected to be someone other than the person connected to the lady in question, DNA paternity testing is absolutely essential to prove who fathered the child. With a DNA paternity test, the parentage of the child can be proved with almost one hundred per cent certainty which saves on a lot of worrying and arguing about the problem.
With some of these procedures, it may not be fatherhood which is in question. Indeed, even the mother can be proved and along with ties to other generations. Siblings too add into the mix and in the end, the full lineage for the person in question is known.
But some labs have different levels of evaluating depending on what is needed. Some run a Bronze evaluation which cannot be used as evidence in court. These kits can be used at home but the sample from the mother is probably not needed in some instances. Because there is no evidence to prove who took these evaluations, the court will not put them into evidence as valid. If court proof is needed then all these evaluations must be carried out under certain circumstances at a lab or other such facility so that the chain of evidence rule is not broken.
The kinds of samples required can vary but usually include the ‘buccal’ swab which is taken from the inside of the cheek. Other kinds of samples include a vial of blood, some drops of blood on a card or even hair follicles which still have the root intact. Since the buccal swab means that the patient does not feel any pain, this is the usual sample particularly if it is a child.
Some people will ask if this swab is as accurate as the blood sample or other kinds of test but the answer is affirmative. Every cell in the human body contains the information which tells of where this particular person came from. So it really does not matter which sample is sent to the lab. As long as it is taken with precision, any of the above will do the job.
Another common question that is asked is whether the parent needs a special order from a doctor or attorney to allow the lab to do these tests. Although some of these results are needed for court issues, the parents of the child can have the evaluation done at will so that doubt is eliminated from the minds of concerned individuals. Of course, as mentioned previously, if the results are to be relied upon in court then certain steps have to be taken to ensure that the evaluation is done in a proper manner so that the evidence is solid and can be relied upon when it gets into the court system.
Because these evaluations can be done at home, it allows the parents to have the knowledge at hand that the woman was not unfaithful. This is particularly useful where one suspects the other of not being as honest as they could have been.
